This study aimed to identify the obstacles to using technology in university education and to explore proposed mechanisms for overcoming these obstacles from the perspective of faculty members in the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Qaminis. The study adopted a case study approach and used a questionnaire as a data collection instrument. The questionnaire was administered through a comprehensive survey of the study population, which consisted of (10) faculty members from the department.
The findings revealed that faculty members face several obstacles that limit the integration of technology into university education. Technical obstacles ranked first with a mean score of (4.19), followed by administrative and financial obstacles with a mean score of (3.61), curriculum-related obstacles with a mean score of (3.15), and finally human-related obstacles with a mean score of (3.07). The overall mean score of the combined obstacles was (3.50), indicating that these obstacles represent a significant challenge to the effective use of technology in university education.
The study proposed several mechanisms to overcome these obstacles, including developing digital infrastructure, providing specialized technical support, investing in reliable e-learning platforms, allocating budgets to support digital transformation, redesigning curricula to align with e-learning environments, and organizing training programs to enhance the technological skills of faculty members and students.
The study recommends adopting clear institutional policies for digital transformation in universities and providing the necessary technical and human resources to ensure more effective integration of technology into the university educational process
