Libyan Journal of Educational Research and E-Learning (LJERE)

1. Review Model

LJERE employs double-blind peer review:

  • Authors and reviewers remain anonymous

  • Minimum two independent experts per manuscript

  • Editorial screening prior to peer review (desk rejection for scope/quality mismatch)

2. Criteria for Evaluation

Reviewers assess:
✔ Originality: Novel contribution to education/e-learning research
✔ Methodology: Appropriate design and rigorous analysis
✔ Clarity: Logical structure and readable presentation
✔ Ethics: Compliance with research integrity standards
✔ Impact: Relevance to researchers/practitioners

3. Review Process Timeline

Initial editorial check 1 week
Reviewer assignment 1 week
Peer review period 4 weeks
Decision notification Within 72 hours post-reviews

4. Possible Decisions

  • Accept without revisions (rare)

  • Minor revisions (address specific concerns)

  • Major revisions (substantive changes required)

  • Reject (with constructive feedback)

5. Reviewer Selection

  • Matched by subject expertise and regional context awareness

  • Exclude reviewers from author's institution/collaborators

  • Authors may suggest or oppose reviewers

6. Ethical Requirements

  • Reviewers must:

    • Declare conflicts of interest

    • Maintain confidentiality

    • Provide objective, evidence-based critiques

  • Editors reserve right to reject unethical reviews

7. Appeals Process

  • May request reconsideration with point-by-point rebuttal

  • Escalated to theEditorial Board if unresolved
