Abstract

The current research was conducted to assess social and professional challenges experienced by faculty members and explore their influence on the effectiveness of teaching. The study was carried out using a descriptive-analytical survey. The target population was the faculty of arts, and the sample size was 50 respondents selected using a simple random sampling technique. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics software. The results of the study revealed the presence of social challenges associated with maintaining a work-life balance, as well as professional difficulties, including a lack of rewards for performance, increased teaching and managerial activities, and scarce resources. Professionally induced stress was found to be more prevalent than socially induced stress. Despite the wide range of obstacles, the faculty was highly efficient in teaching, including lesson planning, maintaining contact with students, and using appropriate pedagogical and assessment strategies. The current research recommends that the university should create a conducive working environment, provide rewards and incentives, and reduce non-teaching duties to increase efficiency and ensure the delivery of quality education
